Making the comparative صياغة اسم التفضيل

Adjective	Comparative	English

The word for "than"

Use من: غرفتي أكبرُ من غرفةِ أخي — my room is bigger than my brother's room.يُستعمل «من» للمفاضلة: أكبرُ من.

Long adjectives

Adjectives that will not fit the أفعل shape use أكثر + noun: أكثر راحة (more comfortable), أكثر أهمية (more important).ما لا يُصاغ منه «أفعل» يُقال فيه: أكثر + مصدر.

Comparing المقارنة

My room is smaller than the living room.غرفتي أصغرُ من غرفةِ الجلوس.
I prefer blue to green.أفضّلُ الأزرقَ على الأخضر.
This shirt is cheaper than that one.هذا القميصُ أرخصُ من ذلك.
Reading is more useful than watching television.القراءةُ أكثرُ فائدةً من مشاهدةِ التلفاز.

The superlative

Put the same أفعل word first in an إضافة: أكبر غرفة — the biggest room. No الـ needed.التفضيل المطلق بالإضافة: أكبر غرفة.
