The opposite of ثقيل. Careful: خفيف is light in weight, not light as in bright.ضدُّ الثقيل، ويعني قلةَ الوزن لا الإضاءة.

Two different words

خفيف is light in weight. For light as in brightness, Arabic uses ضوء (light) or فاتح (a light colour).«خفيف» للوزن، و«ضوء» للإضاءة، و«فاتح» للون.

Using it الاستعمال

Plastic is a light material.البلاستيكُ مادةٌ خفيفة.
The laptop is lighter than the computer.الحاسوبُ المحمولُ أخفُّ من الحاسوب.
I prefer a light bag.أفضّلُ حقيبةً خفيفة.

Designing sustainably

The third practice task asks you to design an object from recycled materials. Name the object, the material, and one property: صندوق مصنوع من ورق معاد تدويره، وهو خفيف.اذكر الشيءَ والمادةَ وصفةً واحدة: صندوقٌ من ورقٍ معادِ تدويرِه، وهو خفيف.
